“Like Me” – new memoir by Chely Wright

May 5, 2010

Our former next-door neighbor had her memoir, Like Me, released yesterday and she makes appearances on the Today Show, Joy Behar and Access Hollywood today.

The big story is that a country music singer–especially one who has written the patriotic “Bumper of My SUV” and travels frequently to the Middle East to perform for the troops–is revealing publicly that she is gay. She is far more interesting than that reduced motif.  [But, can she please replace Ellen DeGeneres on American Idol?]

I look forward to reading her book–she was simply a delightful neighbor who enjoyed wine, minor league baseball games, biking…and had her antique pillow chewed up by our golden retriever.

UPDATE – The hardback edition is less than $3 more than the Kindle, which is another example of publishers trying to push back against the price pressures of eBooks.
